injured.

EMSAR member LaMont
Gordon, passes away at age 49.

CASTLE DALE -
LaMont Gordon, age 49, an energetic man always on the go, and always willing to help others, passed away on Sunday,
March 2, 2008, due to complications of a stroke. LaMont was full of personality and constantly looking for a new
adventure.
LaMont was born
on July 30, 1958 to Ross and Reva Gordon in Price, Utah. He married Lori Frandsen in April of 1978. They later
divorced in 2002.
LaMont spent his
entire life saving the lives of others. He was a member of the Sheriff's Search and Rescue Posse for 24 years.
There was never a time that LaMont didn't jump out of bed in the middle of the night to find a stranded hiker or
repel down 100 foot cliffs to save a rock climber. His police scanner was constantly blaring so that he would
always know if anyone was lost or in need of help.
LaMont was an
avid outdoorsman. On Sundays he would always take his dog, Koda, hiking. He enjoyed ice fishing, repelling, and
geocaching. LaMont enjoyed taking his four-wheeler or jeep to the desert to find new
trails.
LaMont, we love
you so much and will greatly miss the joy, happiness, strength, and love that you instilled in every life that you
touched.
He is survived
by his daughters and son: Missy Gordon of Salt Lake City, Jenna (Daniel) Madsen and grandson, Ryan, of Castle Dale,
and Jeffrey Gordon of Castle Dale; his parents, Ross and Reva Gordon of Huntington; his siblings: Dennis (Peggy)
Gordon of Huntington, Don (Paula) Gordon of Huntington, Charlene (Rue) Bell of Orangeville, and Brenda (Hallie)
Lemon of Ferron; his girlfriend, LuAnn Koch of Castle Dale; his friend Sarah Mullaly of Moab; and his dog
Koda.
He was preceded
in death by his brother Mark Gordon.
Funeral services
will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Stake Center, 215 North Main Street in
Huntington.There will be a viewing held on Tuesday March 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Center
Street in Castle Dale, and at 11 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in the Huntington City
Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.

In honor of
LaMonts service on the Emery County Sheriff's Posse, the Search and
Rescue Team voted unanimously to retire
LaMonts radio call sign for ten years.
